Children of The Rock Preparatory School and Nursery

Children of The Rock Preparatory School and Nursery was founded in 1995 by Rev. and Sis. Agard as an outreach to the community through providing high quality education. Its motto is, ‘Growing in Strength, Wisdom and the Grace of God,’ according to Luke 2:40.

The aim of Children of The Rock is to provide care and education to young children living in Morvant and surrounding communities. It caters for children from ages 3 months to 5 years, and can accommodate a maximum of 60 children in the Preschool and 20 children in the Nursery.

The teachers and nursery staff are trained and experienced, and they provide a service that is geared towards developing the intellectual, spiritual, social, physical and emotional capabilities of the little ones in their care.

Over the years, the Preschool and Nursery has engaged in activities beyond education. It has provided breakfast to the police officers of the Morvant Police Station on Tuesdays, a service welcomed by the officers and a pleasure for Children of The Rock to provide. It has also held its Christmas concert featuring the Nativity, performed by the students along with Trinidad and Tobago’s only Bell Choir. The children enjoyed performing and the parents enjoyed the performance.

The Preschool, which now offers Spanish, swimming, gymnastics and football as extracurricular activities, has produced many students who have gone on to attain scholarships, to qualify as doctors and to work in top companies in Trinidad and Tobago, including The Unit Trust Corporation and RBC Royal Bank, to name just two. The school and its Principal, Sis. Marlene Frank, are often told by parents of former students how grateful they are for the foundation their children received at Children of The Rock.

Children of The Rock Preparatory School and Nursery will celebrate 25 years in existence in 2020. It looks forward to what God will do in the coming years.
